My Weekly Menu-- Crocktober & Pumpkin Goodness

The Yellow Farmhouse Weekly Menu Plan
for October 7th thru 13th

Notes: It’s Pumpkin Time! Oh, yes! I have an entire section of my recipe binder devoted to all things pumpkin. Yummo!
And let's not forget its Crocktober! We're having a family favorite this week- Ms. Books' Crockpot Mac-n-cheese and we're also  trying out a new recipe- Bacon Cheddarburger soup. I'll be sharing the recipes as they come up on the menu.
From the Garden: We harvested the last of the tomatoes this week. We’re turning the beds and getting them ready to be all tucked in for winter now….
>>> we’re getting 5-6 eggs a day from our lovely ladies (less light=less eggs).
>>> Mr. Steady and the kiddos stopped at a potato field on the way home from the farm and gleaned from the pile of potatoes they put out for anyone who wanted to haul them away…. This was one gi-normous pile of potatoes…. With more than few rocks added in. So now there is about 3-4 bushels worth of potatoes on my front porch waiting for me to use them.
Food wasted last week: a few more apples…. I just can’t get to them fast enough and a few potatoes. [food for the hens so not a total loss- actually it helps cut down on the feed bill!]
