I wanted to update y'all with our first farm projects.... well, actually, the first farm project was the chicken coop but these are our first two indoor- farmhouse projects....
The painting of the Master Bedroom and the girls room.
Here's where we started last Saturday in the soon to be master bedroom-
Here's where we're at right now with the Master.
I gotta say, I'm pretty stinkin' excited about this project and I've got some super great plans for making this room a real haven for the Mister and me.
Here's the project list details:
Remove and replace bamboo looking mini blinds with white shades
Touch up trim (where needed)- Superhide White by Dutch Boy
Paint doors- Superhide White by Dutch Boy
Hang curtains (made by Ms. Books) higher on wall above windows
Add wall mounted lights to left and right of west window (this is where the bed is going to be)
Replace overhead light with something more in line with our decorating style (need to make a decision whether we want a fan light or not)
Add a gallery wall on east wall
Replace off white light sockets and switch plates with white ones
Add an 8x10 area rug in fun colors to floor
As pieces of the project get done I'll cross them off and (hopefully) update y'all with the progress. As you can see- I've already been able to cross a few things off the list.
The walls took one coat of Bulls Eye 1-2-3 Primer Plus by Zinsser and two coats of Moonshine (Dutch Boy's Refresh paint plus primer). The Dutch Boy paint stated on the can that it was a self primer that didn't need separate priming but those walls were some serious dark green and I knew it was gonna need some extra help. Plus the room has a dark beadboard paneled wall that I painted over and the 1-2-3 primer was a perfect solution to getting great coverage on that wall.
So far the project cost has just been the paint (but we'll keep a running total going as we progress)....
Project cost breakdown:
1-2-3 Primer: $22.63 (sale!)
Dutch Boy Refresh Paint in BM's Moonshine: $25.45
running total >>> $48.08
So- here's where we've come from and where we're at right now.... this is good progress!
Hoping that I'll soon be able to show you the work the girls have been doing on their room too... it's coming along nicely!
