Weekly Menu Plan: Cake, it's what's for breakfast

The Yellow Farmhouse Weekly Menu Plan
for August 12th thru 18th

Notes: It’s VBS Week so our menus are of the easy and quick to prepare variety. Lunch this week will be pulled from leftovers and what we have on hand…. Today for example-  some of us had leftovers, one of us had nachos and another had a honey ham sandwich.
New recipe update from last week: I made this recipe last Friday nite and it got 5 Wagner stars. I’m glad I had the presence of mind to make it in two 8x8 pans instead of one 9x13. We froze one 8x8 pan and ate our fill of the other and STILL had leftovers. Yay! For a meal that stretches!
From the Farmers Market: 1 seriously large green pepper, a pint of peaches, a pint of black cherries, a nice big head of romaine and an 8x8 pan of cream cheese frosted cinnamon rolls.
From the Garden: grape tomatoes, yellow pear tomatoes, Purple Cherokee tomatoes (and more tomatoes) a few squash and zucchini and lots of cucumbers for making pickles.
And we’re getting 8 eggs a day from our lovely ladies.
Food wasted last week: over a dozen ears of corn. Boo. We ran out of time to cook and freeze them before having to leave on our retreat… and when we came back- ew.
