It's time to make the {Baked} Doughnuts

Today is National Doughnut Day.
And in honor of such a momentous occasion, I am sharing links to our favorite homemade doughnut recipes.
We have become doughnut snobs here... once you start making homemade, you'll never buy grocery store brand again... or you will and wish you hadn't.

We are in love with how easy peasy it is to make baked doughnuts.

We're contemplating splurging on another one because we'd like to increase our batches without increasing our kitchen/baking time.... $8.76 is a great deal. I spent a couple bucks more than that when I bought it at the store before I thought to check Amazon for such wonderfulness.

Our favoritest doughnut recipes...
These amazing fluffy chocolate ones- we've made these with a glaze like the first photo above and also with powdered sugar. Both are good. The recipe will make 6 doughnuts, just the right amount for an after school snack for this family.
Ms. Books enjoys making these ohso scrumptious Blueberry Doughnuts with a Lemon Glaze. They're a wee bit more work but ohso worth it... every bite is deliciousness. In the photo directly above you can see we ran out of glaze (we like a lot of glaze on our blueberry doughnuts) and added powdered sugar to the last few- still yummy! This recipe will make 12 doughnuts. Breakfast! Yay!
We've also made this recipe for Baked Pumpkin Spice Doughnuts (the recipe is for doughnut holes or doughnut muffins but it worked just fine in our doughnut pan).

We've got plans for expanding our doughnut making repertoire but I gotta admit... these two pictured here are what I think of when Ms. Books says, "Mama, I've got a hankerin' to make doughnuts!"
