The Weekly Menu- No waste!

The Yellow Farmhouse Weekly Menu Plan
for January 21st thru 27th

Notes: We're getting creative with leftovers and keeping the recipes as frugal as possible for most of this week as I'm trying to set aside some of the grocery budget each week in hopes of a trip to our favorite Amish store for our quarterly stock up. I'll also be doing my best to keep an eye on the turnover of leftovers in the fridge. We had to throw out three containers of leftovers (some dabs, some quite a bit bigger), half a head of lettuce and two tomatoes last week because they didn't get eaten in time. The lettuce and tomatoes went into the compost bin but the rest had to be tossed. Ugh! I hate waste.

Breakfast: Homemade blueberry oatmeal, toast and jam
Lunch: Ms. Book’s deluxe grilled cheese sandwiches, chips, pickle spears
Dinner:  Pacos! [taco toppings on baked potatoes] changed to: BLTs
Breakfast:  Cranberry pumpkin muffins, mixed fruit
[this recipe plus 3/4 cup dried cranberries]

[sorry no recipe for the chili- its a secret!]

[our goolash is made by simply adding cooked elbow noodles to the leftover chili and we love, love, love to add a dollop of ketchup on top and serve it up with a stack of buttered saltine sandwiches- a recipe from my childhood]
