Crocktober Recipe Share- Tasty Turkey

Tasty Turkey {Crockpot}
1 four to six pound bone-in turkey breast
1 envelope dry onion soup mix
1/3 cup water
1/4 cup chopped onion

Pour water into crockpot.
Rinse turkey; don't forget to check the cavity (for the bag of giblets or a packet of gravy*). Pat turkey dry and cut off any excess skin that's flapping around. Rub the onion soup mix on the turkey and under the skin. Use all the dry soup mix- rub all over, even in the cavity. Toss some of the chopped onion into the cavity and place turkey in crockpot, adding rest of chopping onion around turkey.
Cook on high for 1 hour, then on low for 7 more hours.
Or on HIGH for 4 to 5 hours. [Meat thermometer poked in turkey should read 170 degrees for turkey to be properly cooked.]

* Funny family story- I didn't check the inside of the turkey once... I ended up cooking the bag of giblet ick and the bag of gravy inside... we didn't find out until we started cutting into the turkey. Ew. Moral of the story- always look inside!
