The Yellow Farmhouse Weekly Menu Plan
for August 20th thru 26th
Notes: We managed to survive VBS week. Whew. Even my simple menu plans were put to the test most nights as things were rush, rush, rush. And most nights we came home and had “second supper” because we were hungry. Next year I’m contemplating having great snacks and sandwich fixings on hand plus fillings for nachos and tacos and possibly stuff for English muffin pizzas and letting it go from there. The rush and gobble gets to me by the fourth night.
From the garden: green beans, dwarf purple beans, cucumbers, heirloom squash and zucchini, a couple tomatoes.
From the farmer's market and other gardeners: green peppers, potatoes, onions and scrumptious sweet corn.
Putting up: freezing- corn, green beans, peppers, zucchini. Canning pickles.
Breakfast: Yogurt smoothies, toast and jam
Lunch: Diner dinner
Dinner: Campbell’s mac-n-cheese, sliced tomatoes, fridge pickles, parmesan zucchini sticks
Breakfast: Homemade chocolate donuts, fresh sliced peaches
Dinner: One dish chicken bake, corn on the cob, steamed green beans
Breakfast: cereal with milk, toast
Lunch: Ms. Books’ deluxe grilled cheese sandwiches, multi-grain chips, pickle spears
Dinner: Mexi-lasagna, fresh greens salad
Breakfast: Yogurt topped with fresh peaches and brown sugar, toast
Lunch: Canned soup and quartered honey ham on whole wheat sandwiches
Dinner: Homemade waffles, bacon, fresh fruit
Breakfast: Yesterday’s waffles topped with peaches
Lunch: Diner Dinner
Dinner: Mama & Kids night! Going to a local Drive-In.
Saturday - Family Field Trip!
Breakfast: Daddy cook (eggs, bacon, skillet potatoes)
Lunch: Picnic Lunch! Sandwiches, chips, pickle spears
Dinner: Leftover Smorgasbord
Breakfast: Coco Wheats with dried cranberries, toast
Lunch: Crockpot Beef Stroganoff, ranch biscuits, steamed green beans
Dinner: Sunday Snupper (snacks for supper) leftovers or nachos or cereal if its late…
Beverages for the week:
Milk, Water, tea, iced coffee, Lemonade, Half & Half-- lemonade & ice tea together,
Snacks for the week:
Cookies, fresh fruit- peaches & plums, cinnamon cranberry bread
Desserts for the week:
Two Sisters Bar Cookies, ice cream sundaes
