Chocolate Yogurt Cake- 3 ingredients!

This summer Ms. Books and I wanted to  try some new recipes... we haven't gotten to all the ones she's got on her list (of which there are many) but this one was on mine- plus I had some yogurt and two partial containers of frosting I wanted to use up.
So the recipe experimenting began-- We both read somewhere that you could substitute yogurt for oil and egg in a cake mix and that it would make the cake super moist-- so we wanted to give it a go. We did a bit of online research to make sure this was an actual recipe and to get proper proportions... and of course, we found conflicting recipes.... so we decided to just go for it.

Chocolate Yogurt Cake
1 box Devil's Food cake mix
1 cup water
1 cup Greek style plain yogurt

Mix all ingredients together thoroughly and pour into one greased and floured 9x13 pan or two greased and floured 8 inch round pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until pick inserted into cake comes out clean.
After cake has cooled, frost as desired. My frosting recipe is below.

Yes, it's a  three ingredient recipe!

Add yogurt and water to cake mix

Mix thoroughly- I ended up trading the whisk for a sturdier wooden spoon

My frosting recipe.... a mishmash as I was cleaning out the fridge.

Strawberry Cream Cheese Frosting
1 partial can of cream cheese frosting
1 partial can of strawberry frosting
2 tablespoons of strawberry jam

Heat frosting (in container) in microwave for 20 seconds to soften (may need to go 20 seconds more- my frosting was in the fridge) and pour both frostings into mixing bowl. Add strawberry jam and mix with mixer until well blended (about 5 minutes- gets out any air bubbles).
Now: Frost your cake!*

* Start with a crumb coating of frosting (a very thin coat of frosting that holds in crumbs) on your cooled cake layers then put cake in fridge for 20 minutes to set crumb layer.
After its set, take cake from fridge and finishing frosting.
Take a pretty picture.
Cut, serve, eat!
