Super Simple Recipe: BBQ in Crockpot

Once upon a time, I had ham that needed to be eaten and wanted to serve it up different from the norm of heat and serve... I rummaged through the fridge and found an almost empty jar of our favorite cherry bbq sauce... and voila! this family-favorite recipe was created!

Crockpot BBQ Ham
2 lbs cooked ham, sliced
1/2 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite)
1/2 cup water

Place sliced ham in Crockpot. Mix BBQ sauce and water and pour over ham. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4 hours. Serve with salad and baked potatoes.

Of Note:
I often get ham right out of the freezer and put it in the crockpot frozen- cooking on high for four hours.
If I'm serving it with baked potatoes- I cook the potatoes right on top of the ham. Clean and prick potatoes, just like normal, wrap in foil and place on top of ham and sauces in crockpot and cook for same amount of time. I love this type of multi-task cooking!
Our favorite BBQ sauce is Cherry BBQ from Cherry Republic or a homemade brand from the local Amish store we frequent. We love the extra little sweet tangy taste.
I purchase fully-cooked boneless ham in 10 lb. packages when it's on sale and cut it into quarters, then each quarter into slices. Each sliced quarter is placed in a freezer bag and put in the freezer for future use. Very handy.
