Redeemed

Redeemed--how I love to proclaim it!
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;
Redeemed through His infinite mercy,
His child, and forever, I am.

Oh the comfort I find in those words!
I just can't help but sing it out... you just can't murmur the words, "Redeemed-- how I love to proclaim it". That's not proclaiming! Proclaiming requires a shout-out in my little world!
I looked up redeem in Webster's Dictionary and found myself just in awe of the list of definitions under this one simple word.
Webster's defines Redeem as the following....
to buy back, repurchase
to get or win back
to free from what distresses or harms
to free from captivity by payment of ransom
to extricate from or help to overcome something detrimental
to release from blame or debt
to free from the consequences of sin
to change for the better
to repair, restore
to free from a lien by payment of an amount secured thereby removing the obligation of payment
to exchange for something of value
to make good
to atone for
to offset the bad effect of
to make worthwhile

I had to jot all that down after reading it... what a definition! I cannot help but use it as a check-off list- going down it and checking off each and every single item my Jesus did for me.
Repurchase? Check
Win back? Check
Free from distress and harm? Check, Check

My Jesus not only released me from blame and and paid my debt, he repaired me and restored me, he offset the bad effect of my sinfulness and made me worthwhile!
Oh what Joy! Oh what amazing love He has for me! He values me! He died for me!
I am treasured! I am His!
See- you cannot help but PROCLAIM redemption!

The Lord loves you.
God chose you from the beginning.
He wanted you to be saved.
II Thessalonians 2:13 NIRV

God chose me! He wanted me to be saved!
He willingly ponied up the biggest ransom ever for my redemption!

Redemption has really been in front of me these past few months... as we work to redeem value in our home with our renovations- lots of time for prayer and talking to Jesus while you paint and paint and paint... Jesus has been speaking to my heart of how He redeemed me and continues to daily redeem me. He has given Mr. Steady and I a wonderful couple as friends who are brand spankin' new Christians. We love talking with our friends because they are so fired up and hungry for Jesus. Redemption isn't old hat to them. They are living in the midst of the power of a freedom they have never felt before. They don't have an "I grew up in Church and know all those old Bible stories" foundation... they aren't afraid to speak up and ask questions and be curious. And in doing so, they have helped smolder a deeper fire for Mr. Steady and me. They've helped us to string our words together better and much more simply to describe our faith and what it means to grab and fork and knife and start really filling your spiritual plate up on The Word. They have helped me to wipe some old scales off my eyes and to really see that every day I get up, get dressed and wear a badge that says, "I am Redeemed"- and that badge is an honor to wear and should be treated as such.
Redeemed --- Set Free

So with all this glorious God breathed Word whispering in my heart these past weeks, it was a tremendous "God Smile" when DaySpring contacted me about doing a review for them.... when I saw the Redeemed-- I am His jewelry set was one of the May review deals- I knew, I just knew. And I laughed a joyous laugh and thanked my Jesus for loving me so much that He'd send something so small yet so precious my way just to remind me that I am treasued. I am His. Isn't that just like Him?!

I love me some chunky, vintage looking jewelry.
I love that when I wear this jewelry I am wearing scripture and a
reminder that I am Treaused.
I am His.

Isn't it wonderful when you can wear jewelry that encourages you!
I love putting my fingers on the leaf necklace and knowing that it
says, "I am His."
Some days in this delightfully crazy life I live- I need that tangible reminder.

I love the simplicity of the leaf and the tiny pearl at the end of the chain.

I love the chunkiness, the different metals, the pearls and little blue flower on the bracelet.
I love the "R" that reminds me I am REDEEMED.

I love jewelry that has a story and I love the story of this set...
how God sent me a smile and a reminder of how completely He loves and treasures me.

  16. Thank you for your reflections on Redemption. I happened across this while searching for inspiration for the invitation artwork for the Women's lunch I am organizing at my church. The theme for the event is "You are treasured by God". Your words so beautifully express how much we are treasured. I am blessed to have been led here 8 months after you penned this.

On a related note, I noticed you shared how much you liked the DaySpring necklace because it had a message and a story. I make jewelery and have a line of glass crystal bracelets that have a message and a story. You may be interested in checking it out. If so follow this link (www.GlimmerOfBeauty.ety.com) and click on the inspirational bracelets section of my shop. You can also read about how God started me in my jewelry ministry by following this link yahbut.blogspot.com/2012/10/god-and-art-jewelry-maker-creates-gifts.html

Anyway, Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Redemption. It is an awesome thing to consider and keep in mind daily.
