Simple menus and wishing we could eat in the kitchen

The Yellow Farmhouse Weekly Menu Plan
for April 2nd- 8th

Notes: My menu plan is continually getting blown out of the water by the kitchen remodel. I must admit to having way way to high of hopes that I would be able to keep the kitchen completely open and the meal plan intact. The meal plan has suffered some setbacks as I continue to work beside Mr. Steady on the kitchen until we are exhausted. This isn’t conductive to good cooking, neither has the fact that Ms. Books has been busy with some new endeavors and hasn’t been available to help with the cooking. We ate take-out two times last week! We rarely eat out twice a month let alone in one week! My grocery budget is taking a bit of a hit and my planning has gotten pretty repetitive… sandwiches, sandwiches, sandwiches because we all know, sandwiches are easy to make and easy to eat on the living room floor when your dining room and kitchen tables are currently sporting half painted cabinet doors…

Well, Ms. Books is home this week and I’ve worked to simplify the menu plan AND create a back up menu plan. And, I’ve scheduled it in- we’re having take-out again. It was already planned… and we’ve got coupons…

Oh how happy I will be when we are able to eat in the kitchen at the table once again!
