Ms. Books first ever dish she ever made...

I think just about everybody has this recipe somewhere... its most often known as Tater Tot Casserole and it's one of the very first main dishes Ms. Books learned to make-- when she was 9 years old. She has learned to tweak the recipe here and there adding to the flavor...
Ms. Books Almost Famous Cheeseburger Casserole
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1 tsp. dry onion flakes
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 16-oz. package frozen tater tots
--- Brown meat, stir in onion flakes and garlic powder and simmer for 5 more minutes. Lightly rub butter all over the inside of 9x9 baking dish. Place meat in baking dish and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Stir  together soup, milk and Parmesan in a small mixing bowl, top meat with this mixture. Cover entire mixtures with cheddar cheese. Place tater tots on top of casserole- rearranging as necessary to make sure they are all flat on mixture, not stacked on each other. Bake at 350 degreess for 45 minutes to one hour.

Ms. Books Variations
#1- omit onion flakes and add half a small onion, diced
#2- season meat as desired, Ms. Books prefers a steak seasoning, Mr. Steady likes Lowry's
#3- add about a cup of green pepper with onion and garlic powder.
#4- Newest Variation- 1/2 cup shredded zucchini with onion and garlic powder. She's great at finding new ways to "hide" this veggie in casseroles in order to make good use of it.

Serve this main dish with a nice tossed green salad.
