Menu plan including Christmas 2011


The Yellow Farmhouse Weekly Menu Plan
for December 19th through Christmas 

Notes: We’re working on cleaning the leftovers out of the fridge in preparation for Christmas, so lunches this week will be “Diner dinners”- that’s our fun code word for “heat up your selection of leftovers”.  Friday is our annual candy cane coffee cake baking day- we’re doubling our recipe this year… and the guys will be working on finishing the roof on my parent’s barn.

Monday
Breakfast:  homemade oatmeal with apricots, toast
Lunch:  Diner Dinner
Dinner:  Beef-n-noodles, steamed veggies, homemade biscuits
Tuesday
Breakfast:  Fried egg sandwiches, orange slices
Lunch:  Diner Dinner
Dinner:  Ms. Book's Crockpot Macaroni and cheese, Smokey links          
Wednesday
Breakfast:  Homemade oatmeal with blueberries, toast
Lunch:  Diner dinner
Dinner:  Hamburger gravy on toast, steamed veggies
Thursday
Breakfast:  Creamy cheesy scrambled eggs with bacon, toast
Lunch:   Diner dinner
Dinner:  Biscuits and gravy (not quite my recipe but close), sliced peaches
Friday Family Baking and Work Day
Breakfast:  Cereal, toast
Lunch:  Corn Chowder, biscuits
Saturday CHRISTmas Eve
Breakfast:  Daddy Cook (eggs, bacon, hash browns, toast)
Lunch:  Christmas Eve Soup, mini-sub sandwiches
Dinner:  Mr. Steady’s side: Family Christmas: Bringing: hamburger buns, sliced onion, chips, fudge
Sunday  CHRISTmas Day
Breakfast: Christmas Candy Cane Coffee Cake, sliced pineapple
Dinner:  Crockpot BBQ Ham, Mr. Steady’s dirty mashed potatoes, spoon bread, greens salad
Supper: My side family dinner: Bringing: Jesus Birthday Cake, spoon bread
Beverages for the week:
Milk, Water, tea, coffee, hot cocoa, Ginger Ale
Snacks for the week:
Cookies, fresh fruit- oranges & grapefruit, toast & homemade jam, popcorn, cheese and crackers 
Desserts this week:
Christmas Cookies, fudge, cake

  1. Two family dinners in one week--that will keep you busy for sure! :-)
    My mom used to make delicious hamburger gravy, but sadly mine is no way near as yummy as hers was.
