Menu Plan-- A wonderful Fall week

The Yellow Farmhouse Weekly Menu Plan
for October 10-16th

Notes:  The green beans are on their last legs… we’re still getting some stragglers to pick every day but we plan on pulling the plants this week. We’re also picking all the tomatoes- yes, picking them green and bringing them in to ripen {by a window that gets indirect sunlight- lined up on newspapers- we did this last year and had tomatoes all the way thru December}.
I’m still buying peppers at the farmers markets then chopping and freezing them. We’re hoping this will get us through the winter and we won’t have to pay those awful prices for bland peppers. We’ve done the same with some yummy candy sweet onions too. Looking forward to the homemade pizza we’ll have this winter made with food we put up ourselves.
I’ve canned over 18 pints of applesauce—given some away and ate a bunch. We’ve only got 6 pints put up in the pantry. I’m on the lookout for some more cheap “seconds” apples to make more. Used the last of my apples today to whip upanother batch but would like to get at least another dozen pints put up.
