This needs to be filed under "Why didn't I think of that before?"
A couple of weeks ago, I was sharing my homemade fabric softener recipe with a friend and she shared the following laundry tip with me:
1 cup of white vinegar in your rinse cycle
This not only deodorizes your clothes but keeps colors bright and whites white. I immediately used this trick on my next load of clothes- clothing from our camping trip that smelled quite strongly of campfire.
Result: Wonderful smelling laundry- no smoke.
Next up: Our towels. I had noticed that, of late, our towels weren't smelling as fresh as I'd like after washing. They had a lingering unpleasant smell.
