Menu plan with 2 Themed Dinners

Every meal should be a small celebration.
If you acknowledge so joyous a fact of life,
the pride you take in your efforts in the kitchen
won’t be confined to company occasions.
~Marion Cunningham

The Yellow Farmhouse Weekly Menu Plan
for April 11-17

Notes:  We have two themed dinners this week. Tuesday is the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War so we’re cooking Civil War era recipes and watching a Civil War documentary to commemorate this… Thursday the girls are planning a Greek Dinner as part of their school [remember this theme meal and this one]- they pick the recipes, write the grocery list, shop and cook.
Also of note— On Sundays we have a hearty breakfast and a big Sunday dinner… our evening church schedule keeps us busy during normal dinner hours and we are often returning home around 8 pm… so Sunday supper is very low-key… as in eating honey nut cheerios low-key… sometimes nachos to balance things out a bit- or salsa and chips. This is what works for us. The way I figure it- we’re not big cereal eaters during the week for breakfast- we make up for it on Sunday nite.
