Our Homeschool is Going Green today

Top O' The Mornin' to you!
We've a lovely day planned here at Stones of Remembrance Homeschool.
We started off by breaking fast with green eggs and ham, served with green milk.
Each kiddo was greeted with a little rainbow treat on their plate [rainbow twizzlers and chocolate gold coins- got the idea right here] with a sticker that said "You're my
Pot O' Gold at the end of the rainbow!"
We said a special prayer for our day that included an Irish Blessing.

We are mostly keeping to a regular school day... Mr. Conductor has some fun themed worksheets added to his schedule, Ms. Books will read to us about St. Patrick, we are listening to Celtic music, as well as reading some fun St. Patty's Day books from our home library and a wonderful audio story telling CD.
Ms. Books is planning a "gold at the end of the rainbow" scavenger hunt for her siblings in the afternoon. It's going to be a beautiful day today and we plan on spending some quality time outdoors.
In fact, Mr. Steady will be planting lettuce later this afternoon. He remarked to us last year that his grandfather always planted his cold weather seeds (peas and lettuce) on March 17th.
His grandfather was a very successful gardener. We all felt this would be a wonderful tradition to take up again....
If all goes well and timely with the planting and the rain that's been forecast holds off, we plan a family walk to spy out all the new green that's sprouting out and about.
This evening we are planning a special dinner: Shepherd's Pie served with green bread. Dessert will be Mr. Conductor and my science experiment today- rainbow Jell-O.
We plan to cap the evening off by watching the Celtic music specials on PBS.

May you always have work for your hands to do.
May your pockets hold always a coin or two.
May the sun shine bright on your windowpane.
May the rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you.
And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.
