Bread Machine Recipe: Hamburger Buns

The bread machine… my kitchen friend.
Here’s a new favorite:

Hamburger Buns
(aka dinner roll dough)
For 1.5 pound loaf:
1 egg, room temperature
¾ cup + 1 Tbsp room temperature water
3 Tbsp oil
3 Tbsp sugar
1 ½ tsp. salt
3 ¼ cups bread flour
2 tsp active dry yeast

Place ingredients into bread machine in order listed. Select DOUGH cycle. When machine is done- place dough on lightly floured surface—divide into pieces and shape. Place on greased baking sheet (or baking stone- I love my stoneware!). Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes or until doubled in size. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-25 minutes, or until brown.
Makes 16 hamburger buns….
Or when I do it: 8 hamburger buns and 10 slider buns.
Because eyeballing the size doesn’t always work…. Still this recipe is a new favorite and I plan on getting better at making bigger more normal sized buns—although we had a lot of fun making slider sandwiches with the smaller ones.

I love it when mistakes end up not really being mistakes!
